Improvement of practices
Who are we?
I am Pascaline Cousin, an independent consultant working for the Auvergne-based activity and employment cooperative Appuy Créateurs. I specialise in the evaluation of projects and public policies in the environmental field: water management, energy-climate, biodiversity, mobility, etc.
The evaluation-improvement of public policies in the field of biodiversity is still relatively underdeveloped in France. The tools developed by BeeOdiversity, coupled with a more “classic” evaluation of biodiversity policies carried out by local authorities, seem to me to be particularly useful for developing this practice. Developing an integrated tool to objectively assess the state of biodiversity in a territory and the progress made by the actors in that territory is the joint commitment we have made with BeeOdiversity, within the Landestini Cantal Auvergne incubator.
To date, we are testing the system in two different contexts:
On a sensitive natural area of the Cantal Department: the Récusset cirque where, after a first year of measurements thanks to BeeOmonitoring, we are engaging in exchanges with the stakeholders to improve the biodiversity of the site;
In Aurillac, as part of a project co-financed by the Auvergne Rhône Alpes Region: from 2022, we are deploying the complete tool for measuring biodiversity and evaluating the policies carried out by the municipality, to which we have added an awareness-raising dimension, in particular through a pilot programme in two Aurillac schools with the Landestini association.
