Who are we?

Around the VITTEL, CONTREX and HÉPAR springs, Agrivair, a subsidiary company of Nestlé Waters, has been implementing a voluntary and concerted policy of upstream protection of water resources for almost 30 years. This model, based on sustainable change, has made it possible to perpetuate environmentally friendly agriculture in partnership with 38 farms, while protecting mineral water resources and preserving biodiversity in a territory. Ecological measures built around one idea: "healthy water starts with healthy soil!”
On the strength of its work to protect the resource and its remarkable results, Agrivair was entrusted in 2020 with a mission to preserve biodiversity, because protecting the water resource also means protecting the ecosystems and habitats where many threatened species are found.

Our motivation

Since 2020, Agrivair has been implementing an action plan in favour of biodiversity using three complementary approaches: scientific, operational and partnership.
On a daily basis, we preserve and restore natural ecosystems, which include three main types of environment: agriculture, freshwater and wetlands and forests.
Agrivair works on a daily basis in partnership with farmers who contribute directly to preserving the environment and the ecological functions of the agrosystems they operate: maintenance of permanent grasslands through livestock farming, preservation of agro-ecological infrastructures such as hedges, intercropping, etc.
To effectively monitor the actions, several bioindicators have been chosen, including bees.

Our project

Through the analysis of pollen collected by bees, Agrivair wishes to better understand the state of the environment on its site in order to preserve and improve it, to know the impact of its actions in favour of biodiversity, to strengthen its territorial anchoring and its links with stakeholders, in particular local authorities, to involve them and to encourage them to act in turn in favour of biodiversity.

Who are we?

La Ville de Châlons-en-Champagne fait des efforts depuis de nombreuses années en faveur de l’environnement et des pollinisateurs. Elle est labélisée Apicité 2 abeilles « démarche remarquable » depuis 2017 et le monitoring des ruches nous permet d’aller plus loin dans notre démarche en faveur des pollinisateurs en améliorant notre connaissance de notre environnement afin de l’améliorer. La Ville a l’objectif d’atteindre la neutralité carbone d’ici 2026 et l’aménagement d’espaces végétalisés et boisés sont une des solutions mises en place. Par conséquent le monitoring nous permet d’améliorer les choix variétaux en proposant des essences dont les pollens sont disponibles à des périodes de carences alimentaires pour les abeilles, ainsi nous espérons contribuer au renforcement de la biodiversité sur notre territoire.

Our motivation

The City of Châlons-en-Champagne has been making efforts for many years in favour of the environment and pollinators. It has been awarded the Apicité 2 bees "remarkable approach" label since 2017 and the monitoring of the hives allows us to go further in our approach in favour of pollinators by improving our knowledge of our environment in order to improve it. The City has the objective of achieving carbon neutrality by 2026 and the development of vegetated and wooded areas is one of the solutions put in place. Consequently, monitoring allows us to improve the choice of varieties by proposing species whose pollen is available at times of food shortage for bees, so we hope to contribute to the strengthening of biodiversity in our territory.

Who are we?

Cofinimmo has been acquiring, developing and managing rental properties for almost 40 years. Our motivation

As part of the ESG policy adopted by the group for almost 15 years now, and which remains a priority, Cofinimmo has implemented several concrete actions to reduce its environmental impact. The 'Environment' part of our ESG commitment obviously addresses biodiversity and involves more particularly the sustainable management of water in our various assets, as well as a special attention to melliferous plants in the gardens which adorn the surroundings of our buildings. The partnership with Bee-O-Diversity and the installation of beehives on the rooftop of our head office are therefore a logical part of this strategy.

Descartes Development & Innovation is the information, promotion and networking structure of the Sustainable City Excellence Cluster at the heart of Cité Descartes, a rapidly developing innovation area. It also operates a fablab and an incubator.

Our motivation

Located in the Cité Descartes Sustainable City Excellence Pole, we are committed to respecting the balance between city and nature in our area, which is located at the gateway to Greater Paris, as biodiversity is an essential element of tomorrow's cities.

Our project

Installation of 2 beehives as part of the BeeOmonitoring Discovery in 2021 on the Cité Descartes. The aim of this experiment was to ensure that we respect biodiversity on the site.

In 2022, a full BeeOmonitoring, with 2 hives, was launched in mid-April with one of our partners (EpaMarne).

Who are we

EcoTree is a company specialised in the ecological and economic valorisation of the French forest and in the restoration of biodiversity in France and in Europe. Its innovative model allows anyone to become a tree owner in sustainably managed forests. EcoTree also implements numerous projects in favour of forest biodiversity such as the restoration of wetlands, the planting of melliferous hedges, the creation of flowering fallows or the sponsorship of beehives.

Our motivation

Forests are home to 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity, but this biodiversity is under threat. EcoTree is responding to the issues of biodiversity loss through targeted projects in its forests: restoration of key habitats, installation of wildlife shelters, improvement of food resources for pollinators...

Our project

With BeeOdiversity, EcoTree is setting up bio-monitoring systems in several of its apiaries on the edge of the forest.

Thanks to this monitoring, valuable information is obtained on the quantity and quality of local pollen, as well as pollution (pesticides, heavy metals) in the area.

This data allows foresters to better target actions to improve the quality of local food resources for bees (for example, by planting melliferous hedges around the hives).

Who are we?

The main mission of the biodiversity unit is to support our internal clients, such as project managers for the development, construction and maintenance of parks, on ecological and biodiversity issues.

Our motivation

Our business is at the heart of biodiversity. The studies carried out on each of our sites enable us to design a project that fits in perfectly with the environment.
Our main motivation is innovation and experimentation for the benefit of biodiversity. This project will make it possible to have simple information on the quality of the biodiversity found on our photovoltaic farms to communicate to customers.

Our project

The objective of the project is to create a biodiversity indicator on photovoltaic farms using several parameters in order to measure the variation in biodiversity of our installations over time and space.

We have installed a beehive (Bee monitoring) on a French photovoltaic park in order to assess the biodiversity of the site. Indeed, the pollen collected and analysed will give us information on the surrounding plant species and thus on the whole ecosystem of the park and its surroundings.

Depending on the positive results obtained, we will consider duplicating this indicator method on other French photovoltaic parks.

Who are we?

Founded in 2010, Ginkgo Advisor is an environmental impact investment fund specialised in the sustainable redevelopment of brownfield sites in Europe. Ginkgo buys polluted sites in urban centres, decontaminates them and redevelops mixed-use neighbourhoods in response to local planning and sustainable investment issues.

Our motivation

We called on BeeOdiversity to test the BeeOmonitoring solution on one of our sites undergoing decontamination/ redevelopment with 3 objectives

Assess the biodiversity present on site before and after the project in order to evaluate the impact of our project
Obtain a precise analysis of the species present on site, as well as recommendations concerning the endemic species to be planted in order to maximise the impact of our landscape project
To test this innovative solution on a first project and eventually implement it on our other projects

Who are we?

Municipality of Knokke-Heist, Climate, Environment & Nature Department.

Our motivation

The municipality of Knokke-Heist wants to take major steps to greatly increase biodiversity by greatly reducing its use of pesticides and continuing its efforts to become a bee-friendly municipality.

Our project

Planting: We have sown 26 flower meadows, providing 20,000 m2 of food for the bees. In addition, we promote the sale of bee-friendly perennials and distribute 1,000 bags of flower seeds every year.

Management: the management of our verges is optimised and closely monitored. Natuurpunt makes an inventory of all the bees.

Bee installations: there are 5 bee houses on the public domain, each with 2 hives. All these bees take care of the scientific research with Beeodiversity.

Raising awareness: We are very active in our communication efforts. Both to garden contractors, garden owners and farmers. We have trained garden rangers who give free gardening advice.

Research: Every year research is done on more than 500 pesticides, heavy metals and bee health.

Who are we?

The Union nationale des Mutualités Libres groups together 3 free mutual societies: Helan in Flanders and Brussels, Freie in the German-speaking Community and Partenamut in Wallonia and Brussels. Our organisation is independent and has no political affiliation. Our 3 mutual societies represent 19% of the Belgian population.
Our 3 main missions:
1. To be the legal interlocutor of the authorities and the actors of the compulsory health insurance. As co-managers of the health system, we participate in the development of health policies, negotiate tariff agreements with health care providers and ensure the sustainability of the health system.
2. To be a centre of expertise for specific health care related matters such as Belgian and European regulation, medical, legal, strategic studies, international relations.
3. To be a service centre for our 3 free mutual societies for a series of activities: information, advocacy, litigation follow-up, creation of own tools and applications, pricing, etc.

Our motivation

As a mutual insurance company, we support concrete health objectives. One of our priority objectives is to reduce the impact of the environment on health.
We therefore make it a point of honour to apply exemplary deontology and ensure that our offices are built in a sustainable manner and our garden in an environmentally friendly manner.

Our project

Our green spaces are made up of flowering meadows maintained in one or two annual mowings with hay export.

The perimeter of the garden is bordered by a native hedge.

A natural pond has been created.

Hardy fruit trees have been planted, as well as native climbing plants.

Insect shelters have been installed as well as 4 beehives on the green roofs of our buildings.

Our garden is crossed by a rustic footpath.

As a mining facility working in an area with high ecological values, we believe that this project can bring us relevant information on biodiversity to feed our action plans for the conservation and protection of the natural environment where we operate.

Our project

The aim of this project is to obtain several useful information for our environmental protection strategy, namely, the diversity of flora, the detection of potential contaminants and concentrations of pesticides in the surroundings of our facilities.

EAUX MINERALES DE VELLEMINFROY

Our motivation

Our policy integrates environmental development through the preservation of our water resources with the actors evolving in our impluvium.
Our motivation in the BEEODIVERSITY project is, on the one hand, to know the type, concentration and impact of pollutants on our mineral water catchments. On the other hand, to get to know the ecosystem of the VELLEMINFROY mineral water spring and to act for the preservation of our water resource with the interested parties (farmers, Paradis Vert restaurant...).

Our project

The project is part of a desire to take stock of pollutants (fertilisers, pesticides, metals, etc.) and their impact on health and on the ecosystem of our spring.

The objective is to continue to preserve the water resource, to perpetuate the activity of the EAUX MINERALES DE VELLEMINFROY bottling centre and to act for a better local environment.

The BEEODIVERSITY project will enable us to target our actions and increase our efficiency through an innovative and constructive method.

Who are we?

Les Vignerons de Buzet is a wine cooperative located in the heart of the South-West, in the Lot-et-Garonne. It brings together 160 cooperative winegrowers and 80 employees around the project of maintaining sustainable winegrowing in the region for the environment and those who live off it. Our wines are a tribute to the living, made in a 360° approach to the preservation of natural resources.
In 2018, the cooperative bought the Château de Buzet and the site was entrusted to the association Château & Fabriques de Buzet in order to create an agro-ecological future for our territory through innovative projects accessible to all.

Our motivation

Since 2005, our winegrowers have been committed to the agro-ecological transition, for a sustainable viticulture. The cooperative imagines, experiments and generalizes sustainable viticultural practices to all its members in a permanent concern of evolution and improvement, from the vine to the glass.

The Château & Fabriques de Buzet association is responsible for managing the 11-hectare park of the château: former walled garden, wooded areas and meadow. In keeping with the values promoted by the cooperative, each of these areas is preserved for its rich biodiversity (estimated by naturalist inventories).

Our project

We chose to install the 4 beehives in the park of the castle by working with two local beekeepers (one of whom is one of our members). The location allows the bees to move around several natural or cultivated areas.

The objective of this project is to co-construct an action plan in partnership with local stakeholders (department, beekeepers and their union, winegrowers, BeeFriendly label, training centres, etc.) in order to strengthen the collective dynamic around biodiversity.

Having an image of the floral diversity, pesticides and heavy metals on our sites will enable us to define priority areas for action.
