Senior Bioengineer or Ecologist (NL/FR/EN)
BeeOdiversity wants to expand its biodiversity-related activities and is looking for a : Senior Bioengineer or Ecologist.
BeeOdiversity is a social impact company that helps companies and governments create value through biodiversity restoration. This support is provided at the strategic level (impact analysis, choice of indicators, strategic plan, standards, etc.) and/or at the operational level (on-site monitoring, particularly through biomonitoring solutions, actions to restore biodiversity or reduce agricultural and industrial pollutants).
The founders and the team are convinced that technology, nature-based solutions and innovation are necessary to achieve their environmental impact goals, especially with a view to involving all stakeholders. Thus, these three pillars of BeeOdiversity will grow ever stronger. BeeOdiversity has received European funding to develop digital innovations.
BeeOdiversity has been actively developing for several years. It operates in more than 25 countries in the EU, the U.S., South America and Africa, with ambitions to expand to other continents.
BeeOdiversity has been recognized for its environmental impact and innovative nature (e.g. Solar Impulse, Ashoka, etc.). BeeOdiversity’s team of about fifteen members consists of young and not so young people who are dynamic, passionate and concerned about the world of tomorrow! The cooperative governance of the company aims to involve each member in the life and development of the company.
BeeOdiversity is looking for a bioengineer with at least 5 years of experience to join the current company and support the ecological transition.
This job description is co-created as we feel it is important that the position matches passion and interests.
As a Drone Bee on the BeeOsolution team, you will be required to support clients in their efforts to conserve/regenerate biodiversity, specifically :
- Provide expertise in on-site biodiversity restoration and/or sustainable agriculture projects and, if necessary, coordinate large-scale projects:
- On-site inventories
- Management and development plans
- Advice on biodiversity measures to be taken
- Analysis of on-site monitoring data and preparation of reports
- Advice on regenerative agriculture
- Facilitate and train stakeholders (e.g. farmers)
- Project management
- Provide support to internal teams (strategic advice, sales, R&D, etc.);
- Based in Belgium
- Competence in agronomy and ecology with expertise in biodiversity (ecosystem services, nature knowledge, regulations, etc.) and/or the agricultural sector (inputs, PPPs, technical pathways, etc.).
- At least 5 years of experience in a position related to biodiversity conservation and/or sustainable agriculture in a consulting firm, research consultancy, NGO or government agency.
- BREEAM certification or at least 3 years of experience as an ecologist.
- Competence in conducting audits, inventories, management plans and land use planning.
- Leadership of workshops.
- Expertise in advising farmers on sustainable agricultural practices.
- English/ French/ Dutch level C1 minimum
- eDNA or other biodiversity monitoring solutions
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry
- Knowledge of programming
- Team management
- Operational leadership of research department
- Sales, innovation, research
- Network with CSR managers, environmental managers
- Knowledge of IT tools: office automation and geomatics (QGIS, ArcGIS)
- Knowledge of the scientific network and associations.
