His experience
Julien has a PhD in Forest Sciences with a focus on Molecular Ecology from Laval University (Canada). He also has a Master’s degree in Agroproduction & Environment from the University of Picardy (France).
His role
During his studies, Julien did an internship at the Scottish Crop Research Institute (now James Hutton Institute) in Dundee, and another one at the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He has worked for several years as a research assistant at the Canadian Forest Service where he adapted laboratory protocols and bioinformatics analyses for the use of High Throughput Sequencing methods in a context of fungal metabarcoding for environmental surveys. Julien joined BeeOdiversity in 2020. He works in Research and Development as BeeOanalyst focusing on the molecular identification of the different Plant species composing the biodiversity.
What motivates him?
Julien wants to use the skills he developed in monitoring the biodiversity on a wide range of projects with concrete societal impact to preserve/improve the environment.
