Lucie Queste

Project manager & BeeOscientist

You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you.”

Her experience

After an undergraduate degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Ecology and Evolution, Lucie obtained her PhD at the University of York (UK) working on the evolution of butterflies and the role of ecological factors on their adaptation, carrying out field work across South America.

Throughout her studies, she pursued her interest in biodiversity and conservation working for various organisations such as Kew’s Millenium Seed bank and the Zoological Society of London. She developed her skills in project management when setting up a lab in Ecuador as a post-doc for the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Germany).

Her role

Lucie joins the BeeOdiversity team in 2023 as a Project Manager/BeeOscientist. She manages BeeOmonitoring projects, coordinating activities all the way through to the scientific interpretation and communication of results.

What motivates her ?

After a career in research studying how ecological factors shape the evolution of species, contributing to the incredible diversity we observe today, Lucie decided to take on a more concrete approach to protecting and regenerating biodiversity. Her aim is to bring science to the heart of the solution and work with actors across sectors to preserve our environment.
