Why the regeneration of biodiversity is essential to avoid health crises such as that of COVID-19!

This article from the British newspaper The Guardian explains that the destruction of biodiversity by man creates conditions for the emergence of new viruses, such as Covid-19. Indeed, the disruption of ecosystems leads to the disappearance of species that are natural hosts for viruses. Humans can thus serve as a new host for viruses. Moreover, by destroying landscapes, we disrupt ecosystems, and the remaining species are those from which humans catch diseases. As a result, a new discipline is emerging: planetary health. This discipline focuses on the increasingly visible links between the well-being of humans, other living things and entire ecosystems. This is what we are trying to do at BeeOdiversity, by developing projects that are good for the environment as well as for humans.
